Beauty without the Pain

In today's society, youth and beauty often come with a high price and not only to one's bank account. Wrinkle prevention and other aesthetic procedures are often invasive and involve toxins such as botulinum. Although these procedures create effective results (at least in the short-term), the risk involved is often too high for some people, especially those who seek a healthful, well-balanced life.

Thankfully, there are ways to have the best of both worlds. Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture is built upon ancient Eastern practices; it is a way to bring wellness to the body while simultaneously promoting a youthful appearance in a natural, non-toxic way. Mei Zen, which translates as 'beautiful person', is not only a cosmetic procedure but also a balancing one that allows the correction of disharmonies in the body. At the same time, it signals the skin in the face to promote its natural production of collagen, which gives skin a youthful, fresh appearance.

At the Raby Institute, a Mei Zen treatment begins with a 30-minute consultation. By speaking with an individual, I can uncover their areas of concern, lifestyle patterns, stress, sleep habits and more. Gently reminding them that our physical, emotional and
spiritual well-being play not only a role in our outer appearance and skin but also how our bodies stay balanced energetically on the inside. For example, many individuals come to me with gastrointestinal concerns, emotional blockages or severe insomnia. These are common imbalances in the body that can be improved if not completely corrected with the art of Mei Zen and the practice of acupuncture.

After the consultation, I create a unique body balancing protocol that will be added to a very specific Mei Zen facial protocol. Each session will include both the balancing and the facial needles. Shallow needling in the face along with points to activate energy
meridians in the body have been studied and perfected for over 2,000 years and have been deemed safe and successful for centuries. The result is a balanced complexion and softer, more vibrant skin. Sagging, wrinkles, and even so-called "jowls" can be improved through this procedure, all without the use of chemicals, toxins, or other potentially dangerous materials. Individuals receive two treatments per week for five weeks. Although results vary and can be long-lasting, benefits are best achieved if individuals follow-up with 2 treatments every 3-6 months.

The results from Mei Zen stem far beyond one's appearance in the mirror. Acupuncture removes disharmonies from the body and helps to promote healthy, happy living from the inside out. Thus, allowing individuals to live well and feel their best.
