Integrative Acute and Primary Care with Nurse Practitioners

Feel a cold coming on? Hurt your ankle running along the lakefront? You don't have to go to a community clinic, ER, or "minute clinic" for care. The Raby Institute offers acute care, with Nurse Practitioner Melissa Frazelle, NP.

"There's so much flexibility in the schedule, which means patients can get in the same day, and they're coming to the place which is also home to their primary care doctor," Melissa says.

Melissa see same-day patients for a multitude of reasons. Some of the more common cases include colds, seasonal allergies, skin conditions, gynecological issues, and musculoskeletal issues.

In addition, the Raby Institute uses an after-hours answering service, which gives patients 24/7 access to our providers for urgent medical questions.

If you or someone you know is looking for a new primary care provider, Integrative Nurse Practitioner Melissa (Missy) Frazelle is accepting new primary care patients.

Missy found her way to integrative medicine as an undergraduate nursing student at the University of Arizona—home of Dr. Andrew Weil’s Center for Integrative Medicine. She was inspired when she saw the integrative medicine guru speak at a lecture, but her own experience with yoga ultimately prompted her to explore other forms of healing.

While in school, Missy had started practicing yoga to help ease anxious tendencies. When she evolved that interest into an intensive yoga teacher training, she says it dovetailed into “healthy eating and the whole world of holistic healing.”

That experience inspired Missy to continue her education, incorporating an integrative approach. She attended graduate school at Loyola University in Chicago, and initially went on to work in oncology. Currently, she sees primary care patients at the Raby Institute.
