Victoria Buchanan, MD

Integrative Internal Medicine & Primary Care

As an integrative internist in Primary care, Dr. Buchanan likes to evaluate the whole person by focusing on the foundational Pillars of Health – Nutrition, Exercise, Sleep, Stress and exposure to Environmental toxins.  This functional medicine approach allows her to strive to find the root cause of an illness or problem in order to find solutions that provide long lasting benefit.  By balancing the systems of the body, it can begin to heal itself.

Dr. Buchanan has been practicing Internal Medicine since 1996.  She attended University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston Medical school and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Rush Presbyterian-St Luke’s Medical Center where she also served as a Chief Medical Resident.  She has been board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine since 1996.

In 2014, she transitioned from a traditional private practice to the Raby Institute for Integrative Medicine.  Her natural tendency toward a holistic approach to health was fueled by her training with the Institute for Functional Medicine.

She enjoys educating patients and empowers them to collaborate in all healthcare decisions.  Her areas of interest are Cardiovascular disease, Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Cognitive health, Women’s Health, Hypothyroidism and Preventive health.
