Not Your Everyday Facial: Keeping Skin Healthy and Hydrated Over the Winter Months

Happy woman with clear skin croppedHave you noticed when you forget to water your house plants for a week or two how the leaves start to droop and develop wrinkles? Well, our skin acts in much the same way when it becomes dehydrated and dry. Dry skin is not unique to any one type of person and can affect anyone regardless of gender, age or skin type. In the winter months it takes special efforts to keep our skin hydrated while we are exposed to chilling winds, indoor heating and the effect of a drink or two during holiday celebrations.

To help keep your skin hydrated and healthy, the Raby Institute is excited to offer the Intraceuticals Infusion System.  This system of non-invasive treatments targets fine and expression lines, wrinkles, age spots, hyper pigmentation and acne.  By applying several different weights of hyaluronic acid (a key agent in maintaining moist and young-looking skin) and oxygen to the skin, the Intraceuticals Infusion system dramatically enhances the overall hydration and health of the skin.

The skin is the largest organ of the body and has six major functions: heat regulation, absorption, secretion, protection, excretion, and sensation. The skin naturally loses hydration through a process called trans epidermal water loss; however, when well-hydrated, the outer layer of the skin (the stratum corneum) will maintain a water level of 10 to 30 percent. Oils produced by the body act as moisturizers and help the stratum corneum minimize water loss. When well-hydrated and well-moisturized the skin not only looks and feels better, but also functions better to keep out germs and irritants.

How the Intraceutical System Works:
The skin's natural moisture factor is hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid has the ability to hold 1000 times its weight in moisture. Clinical studies show hyaluronic acid has an accumulative benefit in the skin which helps the skin retain moisture and resist aging. Well-hydrated skin has also been shown to have better elasticity and stronger collagen.

Based on the important role that hyaluronic acid plays in our skin's health and appearance, and working with leading universities in Australia, Intraceuticals discovered that the application of several different weights of hyaluronic acid, targeted to specific layers of the skin resulted in dramatically hydrated, more youthful, vital skin. The result of this research is a patented complex, which has revolutionized the aesthetic skin care industry.

Oxygen is another key factor to healthy skin. It is the source of life and essential for cellular energy and protein synthesis. The Intraceuticals uses oxygen and hyaluronic acid to deliver active ingredients to bond with our skin's own moisture.

This cutting edge technology will help optimize your skin's own natural moisture factor to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, add lost volume, and provide long lasting moisture for a more youthful, vital, healthy skin not just during the winter months, but for years to come.

The Intraceuticals infusion treatments are suitable for ALL skin types and concerns and are so safe even pregnant women can have the treatments. There are four treatment serums to choose from: "Rejuvenate" visibly smoothes fine lines and wrinkles; "Opulence" helps balance uneven skin pigmentation; "Clarity" addresses the aggravating bacteria that causes acne; and "Atoxelene" is a special serum that when used alone or added to any other treatment will address deeper wrinkles (it is our natural, safe, and effective alternative to Botox).

A careful evaluation and consultation will be performed at your first appointment. After your first treatment your skin will visibly be refined, plump, and radiant!
