What is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is an FDA-approved GLP-1 receptor agonist medication. It stimulates GLP-1 receptors in your body, most of which are found in your intestines, your pancreas, and your brain. Stimulating these receptors controls your appetite, food cravings, and insulin secretion. GLP-1 receptors are naturally stimulated when you eat a large meal. When you take a medication that stimulates GLP-1 receptors, this causes you to feel physically and mentally full, even when you have not been eating.

This will allow you to feel full while eating less. It also reduces cravings and “food chatter” in your brain, so that you will not be thinking about food all the time.

In some cases, the weight loss from Semaglutide can be relatively rapid, which sometimes can lead to reversible loss of healthy muscle. Our primary goal while you are losing weight is to make sure that you retain good health, and that you maintain as much lean muscle mass as possible, through proper healthy diet and muscle-building exercises.
