 Susan Lipshutz, LCSW
Susan A. Lipshutz, a licensed clinical social worker and integrative psychotherapist with a foundation in both Western medicine and indigenous spiritual practices. For the past two decades, she has focused on bridging cross-cultural traditions and contemporary culture to help individuals heal soul wounds, awaken hearts to self-love and acceptance, and bring the mind/body/spirit systems into balance with nature.
Following her passion for exploring and integrating the healing practices of universal wisdom teachings, Susan has participated in two shamanic Andean/Peruvian apprenticeships and has studied with Chilean medicine women and Mapuche ceremonialists in order to bring their healing traditions to women in North America. For the last fifteen years, Susan has been offering consultations that assist to tap into and embody soul essence memory via working the Akashic Record energy practices on an individual and group basis. Most recently, Susan has been working with Mayan Yucatan shamans, astrologers and global ceremonialists to better understand and offer guidance as we move into these transformational times of change.
In addition to her cross-cultural education, Susan has maintained an active Chicago-based practice for 25 years. Susan will continue to see patients at her regular practice while working on staff at the Raby Institute for Integrative Medicine as the Program Director for its educational and meditation classes. Her background and training include serving as the Director of Behavioral Sciences for the Family Practice Residency Training Program, affiliated with Illinois Masonic Medical Center and West Suburban Hospital. She has sought training in creative visualization, mindful meditation, clinical hypnotherapy and other mind/body practices to enhance meaningful change for clients. She is experienced in leading guided meditations, workshops and retreats, and is a frequent lecturer on topics such as women's health issues and wholistic well-being.
Deeply devoted to building strong communities that reawaken an integrate the divine feminine into daily life, Susan founded Everyday Medicine WomanTM which offers programs such as Thirteen MoonsTM, a monthly seminar series and bi-annual women's gatherings. Susan has been a featured expert in Women's Day magazine and is co-founder of Rainbow Journey, LLC. Susan was honored in Chicago Mindful Metropolis' 2010 Readers Choice Award as the recipient of Best Mental Health Practitioner.
